Ahavat Achim Orthodox Congregation of Fair Lawn, situated at 18-25
Saddle
River Road, is a young and vibrant congregation offering a full range
of
religious, social, and educational services to the entire community.
Founded
over 20 years ago by a group of nine dedicated families whose vision
and
goal was to increase their own level of observance, the Congregation
has
used their model as a basis for continued growth. Ahavat Achim is
committed
to the tenets and values of religious, modern orthodox Judaism while,
at
the same time, to encouraging and welcoming Jews from all backgrounds
and
affiliations.
Ahavat Achim is proud to offer a myriad of programs and activities to
its
members, as well as to the greater community. These include daily
(morning
and evening) prayer services; Shabbat and Holiday prayer services;
adult
educational programs (including scholars in residence, guest lecture
series,
and ongoing learning programs); youth services (including weekly
children’s
programs, special activities, and National Council of Synagogue Youth
(NCSY)
chapters); charitable activities on a local, regional, national and
international
level (including a recent dedication of a Shabbat/Yom Tov Hospitality
Cart
at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, which provides religious articles
to ease a Shabbat/Yom Tov stay in the hospital); and many other special
programs (including commemorations of Yom Hashoah (Holocaust
remembrance)
and Yom Haatzmaut (Israeli Independence Day).
We have recently had the privilege of constructing a major, new
addition
to our facility. We look forward to the future with enthusiasm
and
welcome all who share our vision to join with us in the years ahead.
We
are
proud to be members of the Rabbinical Council
of Bergen
County and the Orthodox
Union
